Paper Vote Scanning Accuracy in the 2024 ACT Election
Dear ACT Electoral Commission,
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2016, I apply for access to documents held by the Commission, including correspondence, relating to paper vote scanning accuracy and scanning audits in the 2024 election.
This includes documents about:
- Manual checking of scanned paper ballots
- Audits of paper ballot scanning
- The changes to the audit process between 2020 and 2024
- The overall accuracy of the process
- Any errors discovered in paper ballot scans or counts

As a result, you should expect a decision from us by 16 December 2024. This period may, however, be extended if we need to consult third parties or for other reasons set out in the FOI Act. We will notify you if this is the case.

You will not be charged unless we advise you that charges are payable in relation to your access application, and you choose to proceed.
