Complaint handling forum 2024

Dear Commonwealth Ombudsman,

On 21 October 2024, Iain Anderson, the Commonwealth Ombudsman, gave a keynote address for the 2024 complaint handling forum.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth), I request access to the keynote address delivered by Iain Anderson on 21 October 2024.

For the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth), the concept of a document extends to traditional documents, as well as digital documents, audio recordings and video recordings. If a documentary copy of the address does not exist but a recording of the address exists, please grant access to the video or audio recording.

Dear Lex,

Freedom of Information request – Acknowledgment

I acknowledge receipt of your email dated 21 October 2024 to the Office of
the Commonwealth Ombudsman (the Office), in which you requested access to
documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act). Your
request for documents was in the following terms:

Timeframes

The FOI Act requires us to provide notice of a decision on your request
within 30 days from the date we received a valid FOI request. Therefore, a
decision for your request will be provided to you on or before 20 November
2024. This 30-day period may be extended if we need to consult third
parties, or for other reasons. We will let you know if this happens.
