We understand that you are seeking information about fees paid to
jobactive Providers. Requests for information such as this can be made to
the Department of Employment’s National Customer Service Line (NCSL).

On the other hand, if you are seeking access to particular documents held
by the Department of Employment, you may wish to make a Freedom of
Information (FOI) request.

 

FOI requests must:

Put simply, the FOI Act only covers documents, not questions, which is why they’ve referred you to the National Customer Service Line in the first place. They may well be able to provide you with the information you require informally without having to go through the FOI process.

The below examples would be a “valid” request under FOI, and trigger the FOI process:
“ A copy of the most current agreement which details incentives or obligations to JobActive providers for reporting Job Seekers to Centrelink”
“ A copy of the most current fees agreement between the Department and JobActive providers, specifically related to reporting non-compliant Job Seekers to Centrelink”

The above requests ask for documents that relate to your question. It’s a bit of a round about way of doing it, but that’s how the law works.
