Dear Brooke Bickley
I refer to the below emails and your request for information under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) for copies of documents held by
the Technical Advisory Branch (TAB).
TAB has provided me with the requested documents and they total 425 pages.
I am currently in the process of reviewing the documents for release,
however I will not be able to meet the due date of 5 August 2024 for a
decision.
Under s15AA of the FOI Act, we are able to extend the due date for a
decision by up to 30 days if the applicant agrees and provides written
agreement.
Given the amount of information, I am emailing to request an extension of
14 days from the due date of 5 August 2024, this would make the new due
date 19 August 2024, If you agree to this extension, please confirm via
reply email.
If you would like to discuss this matter, please freel free to contact me
via my email address below, [1][NDIA request email] or via phone on (08) 8100

Dear foi,
Thanks for your response and clarifying where things are up to currently with my request.
I am happy to approve the extension that you have requested.
Yours sincerely,
B
Dear Brooke
Thank you for agreeing to the small extension requested below. I note that
I am still reviewing the documents and I have located some information in
the document titled 'Ratio of direct supports’ where the research officer
corresponded by email with 13 Occupational Therapy organisations both in
Australia and overseas and received email replies from 6.
As this information is summarised in the document, the purpose of this
email is to seek your agreement to redact the emails and names relating to
organisations and their staff, while retaining the summaries of their
responses.
Can you please advise if you are agreeable to the above at your earliest
convenience or by the end of today if possible so I can complete my
decision to you as soon as practicable.
Alternatively, if you are not agreeable to the above, I am required to
conduct third party consultations with these organisations under sections
27 and 27A of the FOI Act. This means I will require an additional 30 days
to complete this process and make my decision.
I look forward to your response

Hi Brooke,
The ME/CFS document has already been released here: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/t...
Unfortunately, I think it's likely that the agency is going to refuse your request as the "resource impact of processing request would be substantial and unreasonable" due to the number of documents you have requested. Or they will to ask that you revise your request to include only a handful of documents at a time. https://classic.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/...
I've requested the thermoregulation/aircon documents in this request, if you want to exclude those from yours and follow along with mine: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/t...
And someone else has made a request that includes the autism focused therapy and sensory items document, if you want to do the same for that: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/t...
Fingers crossed they decide to be generous and do it all at once, but I just wanted to let you know that you might need to pick a few priority items and start from there.
