Statistics on the number of tenant evictions years 2011-2021
Dear Department of Social Services,
We are conducting research on the impact of covid-19 lock-downs on tenants Australia-wide.
Ideally we would need access to the following statistics (temporal range years 2011-2021):
1. Number of evictions per suburb per quarter
2. Property type for which the eviction occurred i.e. house, apartment, townhouse
3. Reason for eviction i.e. misconduct, financial hardship, other
The results will be published on https://www.htag.com.au to assist the real estate investor community in understanding which property markets are most susceptible to economic shock due to continued lock-downs.
Yours faithfully,
HtAG Analytics

Dear HtAG Analytics
I refer to your FOI request for data on eviction.
I am sorry to advise that the Department of Social Services does not have
data on eviction from properties.
As housing is a state and territory responsibility, State Territory
housing authorities collect some data on public housing, and State and
Territory Housing Rental Bond housing boards collect some data on private
rental housing.
For example some data on termination of private rental housing can be
found in the link below.
