Statistics on Consumer Affairs Victoria action against rental providers/landlords and real estate agents from 2018 to 2022
Dear Victorian Department of Justice & Regulation,
Under the Freedom of Information Act 1982, and relating directly to Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV), I am seeking the following information.
Statistics on:
• The number of complaints received by CAV from renters against rental providers/landlords each calendar year from 2018 to 2022
• The number of complaints received by CAV from renters against real estate agents each calendar year from 2018 to 2022
• The number of complaints received by CAV from landlords/rental providers against real estate agents per calendar year from 2018 to 2022
• The number of complaints received by CAV from rental providers against renters each calendar year from 2018 to 2022
• The number of proceedings for offences against real estate agents instigated by Consumer Affairs Victoria under the Estate Agents Act 1980 [inclusive of the Estate Agents (Professional Conduct) Regulations 2018] and Residential Tenancies Act 1997 each calendar year from 2018 to 2022 (categorised into each piece of legislation, or both if applicable)
• The number of each compliance measure as listed below utilised by CAV against landlords/rental providers each calendar year from 2018 to 2022:

The FOI Act requires you to pay an application fee of $30.60 to make a
request. The department can waive this fee for hardship. Please pay the
application fee or provide evidence of hardship for the department to
consider waiving the fee. An example of evidence of hardship could be a
copy of your current health care card. Until the department receives this
evidence or you pay the fee, your request will not be processed.
