Private use of social media advice provided to employees

James Smith made this Freedom of Information request to WA Seniors Card Centre as part of a batch sent to 204 authorities

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, WA Seniors Card Centre should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear WA Seniors Card Centre,

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act.

I request documents related to the ten most recent instances where an employee has sought information, advice, guidance, or opinion on their social media use in a private capacity.

I limit the scope of documents to:
- the original request from the employee
- the agency/department's response
- any follow-up questions and response
- only those sent to a relevant HR / conduct / social media (or similar) team (rather than managers across all areas of the organisation)
- where the original request was created in the last 2 years

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

James Smith

FOI, WA Seniors Card Centre

Hello James

Thank you for your inquiry.

Before processing your application, I would like to clarify the scope of
your request:

You have requested all records associated with the ten recent instances,
within the last two year, where an employee has sought information,
advice, guidance, or opinion on their social media use in a private
capacity within the former Department of Local Government and Communities,
incorporating the WA Seniors Card Centre.

The records include the original request from the employee; the
agency/department's response; and any subsequent records.

You are only interested in those records from the employee direct to the
relevant HR / conduct / social media (or similar) team.

You are not interested in those records sent to a manager, or the records
relating to management policy broadcast to all employees by the agency.

Given this request relates to a WA state agency, it will be processed
under the Western Australian Freedom of Information Act (1992). Under the
Act, all privacy information will be redacted.

Please confirm the above, or comment further.

Kind regards

Tony
