Non-ASL staff - Position titles
Dear Attorney-General's Department,
I seek the following under FOI;
A document that contains a list of all the position/job titles of every contractor within your department.
You may omit duplicate position titles. But where a position title is duplicated, please indicate the number of contractors employed within the department that have that position title.
e.g. a position title may be: 'security guard', or 'consultant', or 'APS3 FOI officer', etc.
The purpose of this FOI request is to determine what kinds of roles the Attorney General's department has outsourced by means of labour hire.
If no such document exists please advise.
Yours faithfully,
John Smith
Dear Attorney-General's Department,
If this request would be refused because providing the number of people employed under each position title would be impractical; please instead provide a bare list of position titles that are currently filled by contractors.
Yours faithfully,
John Smith
Dear Mr Smith
Freedom of Information Request FOI20/125
I refer to your request under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI
Act) for access to documents.
A document that contains a list of all the position/job titles of every
contractor within your department. e.g. a position title may be: 'security
guard', or 'consultant', or 'APS3 FOI officer', etc. You may omit
duplicate position titles. But where a position title is duplicated,
please indicate the number of contractors employed within the department
that have that position title.
If this request would be refused because providing the number of people
employed under each position title would be impractical; please instead
provide a bare list of position titles that are currently filled by
contractors.
If you disagree with this interpretation of your request, please let me
know in writing as soon as possible.
The department received your request on 29 July 2020 and the 30 day
statutory period for processing your request commenced from the day after
that date. You should therefore expect a decision from us by 28 August
2020. However, the period of 30 days may be extended if the department
needs to consult third parties or for other reasons. We will advise you if
this happens.
Where the documents within the scope of an FOI request include the
personal information of junior officers of the department or other
government authorities, the department’s practice is to not disclose that
information (e.g., names, contact details). The names of senior officers
will generally be disclosed. In addition, duplicates and incomplete email
chains within the scope of the FOI request will be excluded.
Please note that, with some exceptions (such as personal information),
documents released under the FOI Act may later be published online on the
department’s disclosure log

Further information required
To assist the department to search for and identify the information you
are requesting to access, it would be appreciated if you could provide a
date range for your request. For example, you may wish to advise you are
seeking a ‘a list of all the position/job titles of every contractor
within your department’ for particular period (e.g. the 2019-20 financial
year), or a more limited point in time (e.g. the day 29 July 2020).
I would be grateful if you could please provide a response to this request
for information, advising of a date range for your request by Wednesday 12
