Non-ASL public service staff
Dear Department of Health,
I seek the following under FOI;
A document that contains the total number of non-APS staff, filling equivalent roles to actual APS staff in your department.
Typically these employees are ostensibly employed through labour hire agencies, and fulfil functionally equivalent roles to their colleagues.
If no such document exists please advise.
Yours faithfully,
John Smith
Dear Mr Smith,
I am writing to notify you that the Department of Health (department) has
received your request for access to documents under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) as follows:
‘A document that contains the total number of non-APS staff, filling
equivalent roles to actual APS staff in your department. Typically these
employees are ostensibly employed through labour hire agencies, and fulfil
functionally equivalent roles to their colleagues.
If no such document exists please advise.’
Request for extension of time
The department is actively processing your request and is aiming to
finalise it as quickly as possible. However, the department is currently
experiencing an increased workload to manage and respond to the
coronavirus pandemic, with a large amount of resources being diverted to
do so. The content of your request means that any documents that exist
would sit with the line area who has responsibility for the department’s
continued response to the coronavirus.
On this basis, the department is seeking an extension of 30 calendar days,
with a decision to be provided to you no later than COB 3 August 2020.
Next Steps
Could you please advise the department by COB 9 July 2020 if you agree
to the request for extension of time?
In addition, unless you advise otherwise, duplicate documents and
Commonwealth employee names and contact details below Senior Executive
Service level and mobile telephone numbers of all staff will be excluded
from the scope of your request under s22(1)(a)(ii) of the FOI Act.
Kind regards

There was a delay in the above response being attached to this request. The Department did not respond using the correct email address which caused the email to be redirected.
