NDIS Grants: Risk Management Systems, Procedure and Assurance
Dear National Disability Insurance Agency FOI department,
Please provide a copy of the following NDIS Grants information:
- NDIS grants risk management strategy (specific to grants)
- NDIS grants risk management policy and procedure (specific to grants)
- NDIS grants risk register for the last 4 years it was administered by the NDIS (prior to transfer to Social Services)
- a copy of the official notification and reason the NDIS grants system was transferred out of the NDIA/NDIS' control
- A copy of the NDIS grants risk management annual attestation for the last 4 years of NDIA administration
No more than 12 documents in total. Not complex, not voluminous, just public record-keeping in accordance with the National Archive Act.
Background
Taxpayers fund $55.6 billion in federal grants over less than four years
https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/...
The Sydney Morning Herald and the Centre for Public Integrity claim that over $1.1 billion dollars in grants were distributed by the NDIA in the past 4 years, one of the top 10 government agencies in terms of grants/expenditure.
No doubt there is a specific, robust, evidence-based risk management process for where this money went and why.
Someone else recently advised there are specific risk management obligations, legislation and requirements for the NDIA, staff and accountable authorities

(2) The risk management framework must provide a reasonable assurance that the Agency’s risks are managed prudently and soundly.
(3) The risk management framework is to deal with the systems, structures, processes and people within the Agency that identify, assess, mitigate and monitor all internal and external sources of risk that could have a material impact on the Agency’s operations, funding and financial sustainability.
