Dear Department of Home Affairs,

Do you collect data on the total irregular maritime arrivals from 2008 onwards?

If so, could I please have data (sorted by year) from 2008-2013 (inclusive), which includes:
> Total number of irregular maritime arrivals
> Total number of deportations
> Total number of deaths

In regards to the deaths: for each specific person, may I have the age of the person as well as reason of death. If it is not possible to identify the specific persons age with their reason of death, could I please get the top 10 reasons for death for these people (in both % and actual no. of people) - correlation to age groups would be very helpful.

Acknowledgement of Freedom of Information Access request

I refer to your correspondence received on 16 December 2020 seeking access to documents held by the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).

Scope of request

You have requested access to the following:

Timeframe for receiving your decision

Request for an extension of time

During the Christmas and holiday season the Department will endeavour to meet the statutory timeframe for your request. However, during this period, the Department seeks your agreement under s.15AA of the FOI Act to extend the timeframe for the processing of your request by 30 days.
