Incoming ministerial brief
Dear Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education,
I wish to request a copy of the incoming ministerial brief on climate change issues provided to Minister Mark Butler.
Yours faithfully,
Marcus Priest
Dear Mr Priest,
I refer to your emails of 3 and 4 July 2013.
On 3 July 2013, you sought access under the Freedom of Information Act
1982 to “…a copy of the incoming ministerial brief on climate change
issues provided to Minister Mark Butler”.
On 4 July 2013, you sought access under the Freedom of Information Act
1982 to “…incoming ministerial briefs and drafts for Minister for Climate
Change”.
Section 24(2)(b) of the FOI Act provides that an agency or Minister may
treat 2 or more requests as a single request if the agency or Minister is
satisfied that:
a) The requests relate to the same document or documents ; or
b) The requests relate to documents, the subject matter of which is
substantially the same.
As the scopes of the two requests are related to incoming briefs,
therefore, we are treating the 2 requests as a single request.
Accordingly, please confirm that the scope of your request is “…a copy of
the incoming ministerial brief on climate change issues provided to
Minister Mark Butler”.
Your prompt response is much appreciated.
Kind regards,
FOI Team

Dear Freedom of Information,
My second FoI request superseded the first. As a result I am seeking access to "incoming ministerial briefs and drafts"
Yours sincerely,
