Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit
Dear Department of Finance,
Under the FOI Act, i request information relating to the costs of the 2014 visit by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Australia.
I request information in regards to the following:
-Total cost for the trip
-Total cost for use of Government aircraft and individual cost for each flight taken
-Total cost for other transport method
-Total cost for security
-Total cost for engagements made
-List of events attended by the Royals
-List of greeters for each event

Thank you for your email to the Department of Finance (Finance) Freedom of
Information team, dated 19 March 2019, seeking:
the costs of the 2014 visit by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to
Australia.
I request information in regards to the following:
-Total cost for the trip
-Total cost for use of Government aircraft and individual cost for each
flight taken -Total cost for other transport method -Total cost for
security -Total cost for engagements made -List of events attended by the
Royals -List of greeters for each event
Publicly available information
[1]Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) prescribes
that where a document is open to public access, the FOI Act will not
apply. [2]Section 9 of the FOI Act further defines what constitutes a
document. Further, section 15(1) of the FOI Act states that requests may
be made for ‘…access to a document of an agency’. At this stage, your
request is for access to information and is not a valid request under the
FOI Act. Despite this, Finance has tried to assist you where possible.
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) is responsible for
Royal visits to Australia. Accordingly, any queries regarding Royal
visits to Australia should be directed to PM&C. PM&C has previously
released information regarding the costs of the Royal visit in 2014 under
the FOI Act. A copy of this document is available on the PM&C Disclosure

Specifically, I refer you to FOI 2014/140.
Way forward
After reviewing the information that is publicly available, please
consider if you wish to proceed to make a valid FOI request. Noting that
PM&C would be best placed to process any request in relation to Royal
