Dear Employment - FOI,
I would like to seek a reduction or withdrawal of the charge that the Department intends to impose on grounds that the status of penalty rates in the hospitality industry is one of significant public interest in the media, is the subject of a productivity commission review and has attracted direct comment from members of the government. For example, see the comments by Senator Eric Abetz in The Australian in February: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national...
Jamie Briggs has also directly commented about penalty rates in the hospitality industry on the ABC's Q&A program on 24 February: http://www.abc.net.au/tv/qanda/txt/s3938...
Many thanks and kind regards,
Robert Candelori
