Good afternoon Daniel

I refer to your email of 3 July 2014, and note that paragraphs 1-4 of your
email consist of questions, rather than a request for documents.

In order for a request to be valid for the purposes of section 15(2)(b) of
the FOI Act, it must provide such information concerning the document you
are seeking access to as to reasonably enable an officer of this Service
to identify it. Given that these parts of your request are currently
questions, they do not constitute a valid request for the purposes of
section 15(2)(b).

In addition, it would assist the Australian Customs and Border Protection
Service (ACBPS) if you could be more specific in relation to the logo to
which you are referring.

The Australian Border Force will be stood up on 1 July 2015, as announced
by the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection on 9 May 2014. As
such, no logo currently exists for the Australian Border Force.

As part of its reform programme, the ACBPS published the document
[1]'Blueprint for Reform 2013-2018' in July 2013. Within that document,
it was identified that the future workforce capabilities in ACBPS would
focus on Trade and Customs, Border Force, Intelligence and Support. Four
icons representing each of these career streams were developed for the
purposes of visual representation within the document; this includes an
icon to represent the Border Force vocation—not the Australian Border
Force. It was this icon that was displayed as a backdrop during the
Minister’s press conference on 3 July 2014.

In the circumstances, could you please confirm whether you wish to proceed
with your request for access to documents dated 9 July 2014, and if so
clarify the scope of your request so as to identify the documents you are
seeking access to? ACBPS may then be able to consider whether it holds
any relevant documents.

you with some background information and asked you to confirm whether you
wish to proceed with your request for access to documents dated 9 July
2014, and if so to clarify the scope of your request so as to identify the

I note that ACBPS has not received a response from you and is therefore
unable to proceed with your request as this time.

If you wish to proceed with your request, could you please provide a
