ADF participation in the Brisbane Festival Riverfire 2024

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Airservices Australia should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Airservices Australia,

On 31 August 2024, a Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18F Super Hornet, a C-17A Globemaster III, and two Australian Army Tiger armed reconnaissance helicopters conducted flypasts and flying displays as part of the Brisbane Festival Riverfire event.

The ADF also conducted practice flights for this event on 29 and 30 August 2024.

I request access to the following documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982:

1. All clearance and approval documents granted for this event and practice runs.

2. Safety and operational guidelines that were in place for the event and practice runs.

Yours faithfully,

CR

Hi CR

Thank you for granting an extension until tomorrow, 22 November 2024.

I note I am still processing your request and am seeking a further 14-day extension, until 6 December 2024. I note that I am still completing third-party consultations, so without an extension, I will need to limit my decision and release of documents to the documents not subject to third-party consultation, and withhold my decision and release of documents that are still subject to third-party consultation.

Please respond by reply email if you agree to grant me an additional 14-day extension in accordance with s.15AA of the FOI Act. I hope to release my full decision before the extended due date, if you are agreeable to my request.

Thanks
Saira.
