Dear Department of Defence,

Good afternoon Mr Gothe-Snape,
I refer to your request, made under the Freedom of Information Act 1982,
for the following:
Can you please provide the budgets, menus, expenses, invoices, receipts,
credit card statements and reimbursements for the most expensive event
attended by a Minister or Assistant Minister in your Department's
portfolio area in 2016-17.
I request that any fees arising in relation to this request be waived as
the information is in the public interest, as it helps inform the public
about how the government is spending public revenue.
As the Department of Defence only holds information about Department of
Defence expenditure, we are unable to provide documents relating to the
most expensive event attended by a Minister in the Defence portfolio as we
do not hold documents on all events attended by each Minister. Some events
attended by the Ministers may have been paid for by other departments or
parties.
As such, I am proposing that we revise the scope of your request to the
following:
The budgets, menus, expenses, invoices, receipts, credit card statements
and reimbursements for the most expensive event paid for by the Department
of Defence and attended by a Minister or Assistant Minister in the Defence
portfolio in FY 2016-17.
Can you please advise if you agree to the revised scope?
Thanks in advance,
Dr Melanie Beacroft
