Good morning Emily
Thank you so much for your prompt response to below and agreeing to the
requested extension which is greatly appreciated.
I am now ready to release my decision and documents to you, but I note I
do require your agreement in writing to be able to remove middle and
surnames of NDIA staff as irrelevant under s22 of the FOI Act.
As this will have an impact on how I structure my decision, can I please
ask you to respond at your earliest convenience and confirm (or not) your
agreement with this.
If I do not hear back from you by close of business 1 August 2024, I will
proceed on the basis that you do not agree.

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you. Could you please clarify which document corresponds with each item in my request? For example: Decision DOCUMENT 1 is 1. "Unilateral Hearing Loss"; and so on. It isn't clear which document addresses each request item as most seem to use a different title than what was originally listed in the FOI 23/24-1189 TAB Research Document list.
Much appreciated,
Emily Lacey
Good afternoon Emily
I sincerely apologise for any confusion the documents may have caused.
During the processing of your request, I identified a discrepancy with
some of the research document titles as listed in our register and the
actual document titles on the research documents themselves. I clarified
with our Technical Advisor Branch (TAB) who advised that the naming of
some research papers on our register was slightly different to the names
on the documents.
I confirm the I have ordered the documents 1-6 in the same order as
requested by you. If you refer to the schedule of documents in the Notice
of Decision Letter that I have provided to you – Attachment B – you will
see the research document name listed is first with the research paper
name in brackets where there is a slight difference in the naming
convention.
For example, you will note in the schedule of documents -
Document 2: Speech discrimination, signal-to-noise-ratio outcomes for
those with hearing loss compared to normal hearing (Guidance for
prescribing premium versus basic level hearing aids)
Again, I sincerely apologise and hope this has provided you with some
clarity.
