Request for access to documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982
I refer to your Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) request dated
and received on 1 November 2023 by the Australian Communications and Media
Authority (“ACMA”) in which you sought “access to the Style Guides/Brand
Guides/Writing Guides currently used for the Australian Communications and
Media Authority.”
I confirm that I am an authorised decision maker within the meaning of
section 23 of the FOI Act.
Decision on access
There is one document (the ACMA’s brand/visual style guide) which falls
within the scope of your request which is released to you in full.
In addition, I note the following:
1. Writing guide: The ACMA’s written content is guided by the
Australian Government Style Manual, with a link provided on the intranet
to [1]www.stylemanual.gov.au.
2. Style/brand guides: The ACMA maintains a brand/visual style
guide based on the Australian Government Branding Guidelines
[2]www.pmc.gov.au/publications/australian-government-branding-guidelines.
This guide is provided upon request to relevant stakeholders. A copy of
our latest visual style guide is Document 1 which is released to you in
full and attached.
