Queries regarding your current Visa status

You can check your visa details and conditions on the Department’s Visa
Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) portal.  If you do not have the
necessary reference numbers to access the VEVO portal, you should contact
the office where you lodged your visa application for further information.

 

Refund of Visa fees

If you are seeking a refund of fees associated with your Visa, you should
contact the office where you lodged your visa application.  Details of our

Making a Visa application

Registered migration agents are authorised to provide immigration advice
or assistance, including advice regarding the lodgement of visa
applications. Further information on migration agents may be found
[5]here.  Please note that the Department is unable to assist you in this
regard.

 

If you are experiencing technical difficulties in lodging your visa
application through ImmiAccount, you should submit your concerns through
the ImmiAccount Technical Support Form, which is accessible [6]here.

 

Australian Citizenship

If you are seeking evidence of your Australian Citizenship, you should

your completed form may be found on page 8 of the Form.  This form will
not be actioned by the FOI Section.

Movement Records/Travel History

If you are seeking evidence of your own travel movements/history you
should complete Form 1359, which can be found [9]here. Details on where to

Superannuation – Evidence of Immigration Status

If you are seeking evidence of your own immigration status for
superannuation purposes, you should complete Form 1194, which can be found

Update Passport Details

Information on how to update your address or passport details can be found

Notification of Change in Circumstances

If you have lodged a visa application and your circumstances have changed,
you should submit [12]Form 1022 to the office where you lodged your visa

[13]here. The FOI Section does not process these forms. 

 

Notification of incorrect answers

If you have you wish to correct answers that you have provided to the
Department either:

·        in a visa application

·        on a passenger card or

·        in response to a notice given to you by the Department inviting
you to comment on possible non-compliance with an obligation to correct
incorrect information

Timeframe for request

The statutory time frame provided under the FOI Act for processing
requests is a standard 30 calendar days. Due to the unprecedented number
of requests currently being received by the Department, our processing
times have increased.

 

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this busy time and we
will endeavour to finalise your request as soon as possible. Although we
endeavour to have all requests finalised within the statutory timeframes,
this is not practicable at this time. Requests that are outside the
processing timeframes under the FOI Act will still continue to be
processed by the Department.

 

Request for an extension of time

As a result of the significant increase in the number of FOI requests
received by this agency, there are expected delays involved with the
processing of FOI requests at the present time.  For this reason the
Department seeks your agreement (under s.15AA of the FOI Act) to extend
the timeframe for the processing of your request by 30 days.

 

It would assist the Department in managing its FOI caseload if you could
provide a response to this request by close of business, Monday 31 October
2016. 

 

Exclusion of non-SES staff personal details and SES telephone contact
details

The Department’s policy is to exclude the personal details of officers not
in the Senior Executive Service (SES), as well as the mobile and work
telephone numbers of SES staff, contained in documents that fall within
scope of an FOI request. If you require names and contact details of
non-SES officers, or direct telephone numbers of SES staff, please inform
us so the decision maker may consider your request. Otherwise we will take

I will refer your question onto the relevant business area, however my understanding is that the Department's database does not record the numbers and types of substances in a discrete document, that we could provide to you without significant manual searching and manipulation of data. I have interpreted from your email dated 5 January 2017 (below) that the
documents I have provided to you administratively (IE: outside the Freedom
of Information Act), would meet the scope of your request in relation to
Items 1 and 2 above. 
 
In relation to Item 3 of your request,  I have now received advice from
the business area, that the Department has identified one document which
would potentially fall within the scope of Item 3.   This document is a
three page 'Back Pocket Brief', covering the Department’s Drug and Alcohol
Management Program Key Statistics.  The document includes data from
2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16.  The data for the 2015/16 period is
recorded until March 2016, which was the last time that this data was
collected.
 
I note that you have not provided a time frame for the period of
statistics you are seeking.   As such are you happy for me to consider
release of this document for the purposes of answering Item 3 of your FOI
request?
