I refer to the AGD employee and Agency Head gifts and benefits registers.

I request the following documents under the FOI Act:

1. For each of the individuals listed on the register with membership to Qantas Chairmans Lounge / Virgin's Beyond Lounge , their total number of flights and total expenditure, by airline, for the most recent available 12 month period (only flights funded by the department)

2. Any documents that detail any assessments made as to the 'estimated value' of these memberships (including those made by the individuals, or the department).

3. Any documents that detail any reasons for accepting (or declining) invitations to these exclusive airline lounges.

4. Any documents that are requests for advice from these individuals, or advice given to these individuals, that touch on whether the memberships are in accordance with applicable policies in relation to conflict of interest, gifts, etc.

Request for extension of time

We received your FOI request on 3 February 2025 and the 30 day statutory
period for processing your request commenced on the following day. The
statutory due date for decision is currently 5 March 2025. We seek your
agreement to a 30-day extension of time to process this request under s
15AA of the FOI Act. This would mean that a decision about your request
would be due on 4 April 2025.

 

If we are in a position to make a decision earlier than this date, we will
endeavour to do so. The statutory period may also be extended if we need

I can confirm the 12 month period I was referring to was restricted to point 1 of my request.

I don't believe a date restriction would assist greatly in assessing points 2-4 of my request, since the individuals concerned (ie. those with the relevant lounge memberships) ought to be able to reasonably identify the applicable time periods for the requested documents.
