Thank you for your enquiry to the Department about the findmyschool.vic.gov.au website, and your request for access to the data underlying the application, ideally in CSV / geospatial format.

Firstly, in order to make a valid request under the Victorian Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the Act), you must provide the application fee pursuant to section 17(2A) of the Act. The application fee is currently $28.90.

However, we have made enquiries with the relevant area of the Department who have informed me that the data is not presently available in the format you have requested. The Department is endeavouring to make this data available in such a format within the next few months. The intention is that this data will be made available on the data.vic.gov.au website.

As a citizen of VIC, I would like to request the data for the schools and zones used in the application, in particular with a focus on primary schools.

I would like to conduct some analysis that I can share back with your department. I have done a number of accessibility projects in the past in Australia.

Ideally a CSV for the schools, and a geospatial format for the zones.
