Request for Assistance Regarding Accident on 4th October 2023
Dear Victorian Road Safety Camera Commissioner,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an incident I was involved in on 4th October 2023 at the roundabout connecting Thompsons Road and South Gippsland Highway, leading into the Bunnings Warehouse. Despite the police report stating the location as Home Co car park, the actual incident occurred at approximately 4 pm.
I kindly request your assistance in reviewing the footage from the aforementioned location to determine the party at fault. Additionally, clarification on the color of the Holden Cruze involved, whether it is grey or black, would be greatly appreciated.
It has come to my attention that the other party is attempting to shift blame, alleging that I am at fault. Your prompt attention to this matter would be invaluable in ensuring a fair resolution.
Yours faithfully,
An
Dear An,
Thank you for your enquiry. The RSCC does not manage these cameras and
your request would be more appropriately handled by the Department of
Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) who administers the Road Safety Camera
Program.
For an FOI request to be valid the statutory fee of $31.80 needs to be
paid or waived. Once formalised we can transfer your request to DJCS, or
you can make a fresh request to DJCS directly via the online portal:
[1]https://online.foi.vic.gov.au/
However, before formalising your request it may assist to know that the
closest camera in question is some 350m away and only records footage for
5 days. As a result, it is likely that any formal decision on an FOI
request would be that no documents exist within the scope of your request.
Any further questions you have we suggest contacting the DJCS FOI team at
