Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Transferring a
FOI request is permitted in accordance with section 16 of the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) when the subject matter of a request more
closely aligned with another agency’s functions. The OAIC has accepted the
