I refer to your request of 24 April to the Department of Health
(department), seeking access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982
(Cth) (FOI Act) in the following terms:
In the 2020-21 budget the government gave the department over $2 million
for actuarial studies of private health insurance incentives, being LHC
and risk Equalisation.
Notice of Third Party Consultation
Documents have been identified in scope to which third parties are
involved and therefore appropriate consultation is required.
The decision maker, an officer authorised under section 23(1) of the FOI
Act to make decisions in relation to Freedom of Information requests, has
determined that the requirement of section 26A and 27 of FOI Act makes it
appropriate to extend the timeframe for dealing with your request.
Pursuant to section 15(6) of the FOI Act, this allows an additional 30
days to process your request.
Accordingly, we will endeavour to provide you with a decision on or before
Monday, 27 June 2022.
