Dear Mr Cole,

I refer your request of 24 October 2024 under the Freedom of Information
Act 1982 seeking access to:

1.       List of the entire delegation accompanying King Charles and Queen
Camilla on their trip to Australia including support staff. If planning to

Again peoples job titles if you plan to exclude names

The current due date for a decision on the requests is 8 January 2025. I
am the member of the FOI Team that has carriage of this matter and I am
seeking an extension in order to keep your FOI request within time. The
Department is committed to processing all requests that it receives and
endeavours to complete those requests within statutory timeframes.

We have identified and reviewed the documents related to the terms of your
request, have conducted consultations with the relevant foreign entities
and commonwealth agencies. However having further reviewed the documents,
it was determined that in order to finalise this matter further work is
required to:

·       Prepare those documents;

·       Undertake further consultation with relevant foreign entities; and

·       Complete the assessment under the FOI Act.

We note that the FOI Act has built-in provisions and operations that
provide for extensions to enable agencies and Minister’s to manage their
FOI requests and keep them within time. The Department would like to work
with applicants in managing the timeframes of its requests. Given this, I
seek your agreement to an extension of 16 days to complete the above work
under section 15AA of the FOI Act. We will keep you updated on the
progress of this request if circumstances change.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear FOI,

Dear Mr Cole,

Thank you for your email. The 16-days extension of time will begin from 8 January 2025, being the current due date of this matter. As the FOI request is to be processed as a whole, this extension of time request extends to the whole FOI request.

The reason for the extension of time request is due to ongoing further consultations with the foreign government entity which were delayed due to the Christmas and New Year shutdown period.

We will endeavour to provide you with a decision before the end of the 16-day period. We will also keep you updated on the progress of this request if circumstances change.

Dear Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet's handling of my FOI request 'Official visits'.

I am writing to request a review of my freedom of information request. I notice your refusal to supply any information on question 1. List of the entire delegation accompanying King Charles and Queen Camilla on their trip to Australia including support staff. I notice that you consulted with the royal household and you used the response
he AAT has accepted evidence of a long-standing convention and practice of
confidentiality with respect to correspondence between the Australian Government and
the Queen [the confidentiality convention]. This convention preserves the effective
functioning of the relationship between the Commonwealth of Australia and the
Monarch, including relations with the Queen personally and members of the Royal
Household, including the Queen’s private secretary.

This is worrying that you even reviewed my request since the monarch is now the king not the Queen who passed away. You then quoted various other documents to hide the information. I would like to know why this was not applied to Senator Jenny McAllister who in the senate estimates of 18/19 made the same request about the then prince of wales link here https://www.aph.gov.au/api/qon/downloada... I would like to know why you are available to release this information to a senator but when a member of the public makes a similar request it is refused ?. Why was the royal household ok to release this information into the public domain and did not give all the restrictions that you are now applying. also reported in newspapers in Australia and the uk ?

Visit to Australia by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and Her Royal Highness
The Duchess of Cornwall
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet paid for 13 staff from Clarence House
accompanying Their Royal Highnesses from London. Clarence House paid for an additional
staff member to accompany Their Royal Highnesses from London. Clarence House also paid
for an Australian based member of the travelling party to accompany Their Royal Highnesses
while in Australia.
PARTY LIST FROM CLARENCE HOUSE AS PAID FOR BY THE AUSTRALIAN
GOVERNMENT
1. Deputy Private Secretary to Their Royal Highnesses
2. Private Secretary to Her Royal Highness
3. Communications Secretary
4. Assistant Communications Secretary
5. Operations & Logistics Manager
6. Tour Doctor
7. Head of Digital
8. Personal Assistant
9. Travelling Yeoman
10. Dresser
11. Butler
12. Valet
13. Hairdresser

The royal household also published on there website and in the newspapers the court circular which also listed staff with their names which also makes it confusing you was unable to comply with this request.
The King left Heathrow Airport, London, this morning to visit Australia and Samoa and be present at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Apia, Upolu, Samoa.
His Majesty was received at the Airport by the Lord Parker of Minsmere (Lord Chamberlain) and the Lord Benyon of Englefield (Lord Chamberlain designate).
The following are in attendance: the Rt. Hon. Sir Clive Alderton, Mr. Christopher Fitzgerald, Dr. Nathan Ross, Mr. Tobyn Andreae, Professor Charles Deakin and Mrs. Sophia Densham.

I look forward to your response
