Dear FOI,

Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately my request is specific to Nigerian applicants who submitted partner visa application to the Pretoria processing centre between 1 January 2018 to 11 June 2019.

Your response back referred to all application submitted to the Pretoria office which was not my request in the first place.

For clarity sake, below are my initial request:

1. Number of partner visa applications lodged in the Australian Visa processing centre in Pretoria from 1 January 2018 and to date (11 June 2019) by Nigerian nationality applicant.

2. Number of partner visa applications by Nigerian nationality that were successful between 1 January 2018 to date (11 June 2019).

4. What is the actual average waiting time for processing partner visa applications submitted by Nigerian nationals from 1 January 2018 till date (11 June 2019) to the visa processing centre in Pretoria.

If you could please respond to my specific request as soon as possible, it would be appreciated.

Dear M/- Olamide

Thank you for your response. I apologise for the delay in replying.

I acknowledge that the document released under the FOI Act did not contain the information that you were seeking. The error may have arisen, as in the body of the email (leaving aside the original subject heading), only point 1 clearly refers to Nigerian nationals. Even so, we failed to address point 1 exactly and did not seek to clarify the remaining points with you.

As the original FOI request FA 19/06/00513 was closed on 24 July 2019, the best way for us to provide you with the information you seek is to create a new FOI request.

Could you please confirm that you seek access to documents held by the Department of Home Affairs under the Freedom of Information Act 1982, concerning:

3. What is the actual average waiting time for processing partner visa applications submitted by Nigerian nationals from 1 January 2018 till date (11 June 2019) to the visa processing centre in Pretoria.

I have omitted the point "Number of decision makers in the visa processing centre in Pretoria which decides partner visa applications" as it does not appear to concern Nigerian nationals per se. As such, it appears to have been addressed correctly in our response to you on 24 July 2019. Please indicate if this is not correct.

I would appreciate your response by Thursday 8 August 2019.
