Education - FOI, Department of Education

Dear Umesh

I refer to your request, received by the Department of Education (department) on 10 August 2022, for access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) to the following:

A list of Australian universities or colleges that allow international students without GTE requirements.

I am advised that satisfying the genuine temporary entrant (GTE) requirement is a condition of a student visa being granted. I am further advised that there are no Australian universities or colleges that can accept an international student without GTE requirements having been met.

For this reason, the department does not hold the documents you have requested.

As such, we will consider your request to be withdrawn unless you advise us to the contrary by Wednesday 17 August 2022.

If you would like further information on GTE requirements relating to a student visa application, you can contact the Department of Home Affairs here: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-and-...

Kind regards,

Freedom of Information Team
Australian Government Department of Education
