Dear Department of Immigration and Citizenship,

I request under the Freedom of Information Act all documents produced by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship relating to policy development and discussions from 1 December 2007 to present regarding the detention, management and removal of the class of irregular maritime arrivals (IMAs) who arrived in Australia after 1 December 2007, have completed their refugee status determination, and have been found to not be owed Australia's protection – but for whom return to their country of origin is not possible in the foreseeable future.

Sincerely,

Kieran Ingrey
