I saw that and wanted to try myself so I can appeal the decision if they redact it.

Perfect! I'll let you know if I come across any other documents again that mention assessment tools and/or scores, because I feel sure I've seen more than just the severity tools document, but that was certainly the main one.
If you can be bothered, it might be worth making a separate request specifically for "an un-redacted copy of 'Standard Operating Procedure - Update Severity Tools' version 5.0". Just in case they respond to that direct request faster than this more general request, because they wouldn't have to hunt around to identify it (although they don't seem to always work in logical ways haha).

Scope of your request

Processing timeframes
A 30-day statutory period for processing your request commenced from 23
August 2024, in accordance with section 15(5)(b) of the FOI Act. You
should, therefore, expect a decision from us by 23 September 2024.
We are also writing to seek your agreement to a 30-day extension of time
under section 15AA of the FOI Act. We are asking for this extension to
allow you to preserve your internal review rights, if you wish to use
them.
If you agree to this extension, the new due date for us to make a decision
on your request will be 23 October 2024.
Please let us know whether you agree by 20 September 2024.
If you don’t agree, we may need to seek an extension of time from the
Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
This period may be extended if we need to consult with third parties or
for other reasons. We will advise you if this happens.
Section 22 of the FOI Act permits us to provide FOI applicants with access
to edited copies of documents with irrelevant material deleted. Can you

contact details of NDIA staff are irrelevant to your request?
Charges

There was a Standard Operating Procedure document called “Update Severity Tools” released under FOI 19/20-0393, and it contains info about all the different tools/scales they use for different disabilities, but all of the actual scoring information about how it’s measured/applied is redacted. I hope you manage to get something back on this without them removing half the document!
