Under the Freedom of Information Act 1982, please would you provide full details of the mandate (permission) from the people of Australia to send funds that belong to the people of Australia to The Ukraine in support of their fight against Russia.

Dear R Mather

 

Thank you for your email to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
(DFAT) dated 26 April 2022, in which you sought access under the FOI Act
to:

 

“full details of the mandate (permission) from the people of Australia to
send funds that belong to the people of Australia to The Ukraine in
support of their fight against Russia.”

 

As it currently stands, this is not a valid request under the FOI Act.  In
accordance with section 15 of the FOI Act, a request must provide such
information concerning the document you are seeking as is reasonably
necessary to enable the department to identify it. Based on your email of
26 April 2022, it is not clear to the department what documents you are
seeking access to.

 

If you would like to proceed with submitting a request, please revise the
scope of your request to provide sufficient information so that officers
of the department can identify the documents you seek.
