Freedom of Information Logs - FOI Request

We're waiting for Watson Norwood to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre,

I am writing to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act for a complete copy of the departments' Freedom of Information (FOI) logs for the period 2013-2023, including any secondary departments controlled by the agency.

I request that this is provided as a document and not a simple redirect to the agency website as I am of the view that your online disclosure logs do not actively reflect your FOI requests that you have received in this period.

I would appreciate it if you could provide me with this information in an electronic format, such as a PDF or spreadsheet, if possible.

If there are any fees associated with fulfilling this request, please let me know in advance so that I can consider my options.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Sincerely,

Watson Norwood

OFFICIAL

Good afternoon,

Please find attached correspondence in relation to your freedom of
information (FOI) request.

I refer to the following statement contained within your initial FOI
request stated as follows:

“… I am of the view that your online disclosure logs do not actively
reflect your FOI requests that you have received in this period.”

I can confirm AUSTRAC is legislatively compliant in its responsibilities
to publish documents and information required by the FOI Act. Section 11C
sets out publication exceptions, including where personal information, or
information about the business, commercial, financial or professional
affairs of a person, is involved and it would be unreasonable to publish
the information.  This applies to the vast majority of AUSTRAC’s finalised
FOI requests.

It is for this reason AUSTRAC’s FOI disclosure log does not reflect the
same FOI request volume as is within the document released in response to
your request.

If you have any questions or wish to provide feedback on your experience
working with us, please contact the Privacy and Information Access Team
via email at [1][email address].

Kind regards,
