Forex scams since 2016
Dear Australian Competition and Consumer Commission,
Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the number of reports of forex (foreign exchange) scams received by the ACCC in each of the last five years (from 2016 onwards).
If possible, I would also like to know the total value lost by victims in each of these years too.

The ACCC holds documents relating to scams and there is a range of
publicly available information regarding investment scams more generally
for the period of 2018 - 2020 that can be accessed via the ACCC’s Scam
Watch website. These figures include the total value lost by victims of
investment scams by year.

I note your request includes data for 2016 and 2017 and information
relating to foreign exchange (forex) scams which may be able to be
obtained directly from the ACCC’s Scam Watch team outside the FOI process

As we are unable to assist you outside the FOI process, we are seeking
your agreement to withdraw your FOI request and would be grateful for
confirmation of your withdrawal, by Tuesday, 5 October 2021. If we do not
