3. Any subsequent decisions regarding charges following internal or

Please exclude the following information:

i) Personal information of FOI applicants.

The statutory due date for your request is currently 31 October 2024.

Request for extension of time

Section 15AA of the FOI Act permits the department to extend the statutory
processing timeframe, with your agreement, for a period of up to 30
calendar days.

To ensure that department has undertaken all reasonable steps to identify
all documents relevant to your request, and for the decision maker to make
a well-balanced decision on access to any such documents identified, the
department is seeking your agreement to an extension of 14 calendar days.

If you agree to this extension, the statutory due date will then be 14
November 2024. The department will, however, continue to process your
request as quickly as possible.

It would assist if you could please advise by COB 10 October 2024 if you
agree to this extension of time. If we do not hear from you by this date
or if you do not agree to the extension, the department may consider
seeking an extension of time from the Office of the Australian Information
Commissioner (OAIC) under section 15AB of the FOI Act.

We thank you for your ongoing patience and cooperation as we continue to
process your request.

If you have any questions regarding any of the matters discussed in this
email, please do not hesitate to contact the FOI Section at

Good evening CR,

Thank-you for your below email dated 8 October 2024 revising the scope of
your request to:

1. The most recent 30 notices of charges issued to FOI applicants.

For each of these 30 requests, if applicable, please also provide:

2. Any subsequent decisions regarding charges following applicant
contention.

Please exclude the following information:

i) Personal information of FOI applicants, including supporting evidence

ii) Emails that attached the charges notices/decision letters.

To assist in processing the request, we ask that you consider excluding
all details of third parties, including the scope of the FOI requests.
This is because there may be instances where an FOI applicant is
requesting documents which relate to a third party. If this is the case,
we would then need to conduct third party consultation with the affected
third party to provide them with an opportunity to comment on the release
of the documents.

We would be grateful if you could please confirm if you agree to exclude
the above information by COB tomorrow, Friday 18 October 2024.

Dear FOI Team,

I wish to provide clarification as to the scope of my request.

If a preliminary charge notice or decision of a charge is sent via the
body of an email (as opposed to an email attachment) I wish to access a
copy of that email, as well as the applicant's contention reasons.

Yours sincerely,

CR

-----Original Message-----

Good evening CR,

Thank-you for your below email dated 8 October 2024 revising the scope of
your request to:

1. The most recent 30 notices of charges issued to FOI applicants.

For each of these 30 requests, if applicable, please also provide:

2. Any subsequent decisions regarding charges following applicant
contention.

3. Any subsequent decisions regarding charges following internal or
external review.

The time period for my request is from 1 July 2022 to 1 October 2024.

Please exclude the following information:

i) Personal information of FOI applicants, including supporting evidence
or details of personal circumstances in a financial hardship contention.

ii) Emails that attached the charges notices/decision letters.

Kind regards,
