Documents related to the SunCable Australia-Asia Power Link
Dear Department of climate change energy the environment and water,
I refer to this media Release dated 21 August 2024:
"In a massive step towards making Australia a renewable energy superpower, the Albanese Government has approved a huge new industrial solar power project in the Northern Territory.
SunCable’s Australia-Asia Power Link will be the biggest solar farm in Australia and is expected to generate up to 6GW of renewable energy including 4GW to be used in Darwin - which is the energy equivalent to power 3 million homes."
The documents I seek are documents that would provide details of the estimated number of solar panels to be used on any or all of the stages of this project, as well as details where these solar panels would be manufactured.
I also seek documents that would provide details of any batteries included in the project to store electricity produced during daylight hours to provide electricity at night.
Details of where these batteries would be manufactured, if available, would be included in the request.
Yours faithfully,
P.C. Sweeney
