Dear Mr Webster,

I refer to your FOI 3766 seeking access to:

any correspondence or documents referencing the closure of
the Katoomba, Murwillumbah, Bega and Portland ANZ branches following the
signing of the Suncorp acquisition deal on June 28, 2024.

Please be advised that the scope of your request has captured ministerial
correspondence and responses to ministerial correspondence which we
consider is unlikely you are seeking access to. ministerial correspondence
is correspondence sent by members of the public to a Minister, often
regarding a topic that concerns them. The responses to this type of
correspondence are generally standard wording put together by Treasury on
behalf of the Minister. If you are seeking these documents, consultation
will be required with each author which, in turn, will extend the timeline
for processing your request by 30 days and your request will likely incur
a charge.

To allow for a more timely and cost-effective decision, we seek your
agreement to exclude ministerial correspondence and responses from the
scope of your request. Where you agree this exclusion, we seek your
agreement to a 15-day extension of time under section 15AA of the FOI Act.

We would be grateful for your response by COB Thursday 14 November 2024.

Kind regards,

Dear FOI,

could you please clarify "members of the public"? If this means any individual or organisation that is not a member of the government, I would like this included. By organisation I mean correspondence from entities such as ANZ, Suncorp or the Australian Banking Association.

Yours sincerely,

Dale Webster
