We refer to your freedom of information (FOI) request to the Commonwealth
Department of Education, Skills and Employment (the department) seeking

a database of Names, addresses, contact emails and phone numbers of persons in
charge at all Australian primary and secondary schools and also an up to date
list of principals and vice principals included

We have been advised by the relevant business area that the department
does not hold a document containing the information you have requested and
that much of the information is publicly available.

For your information, a list of all Australian primary and secondary
schools can be found using the ‘School search’ function on the Australian
Schools List website maintained by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment
and Reporting Authority (ACARA), and is available at:
[1]https://asl.acara.edu.au/School-Search. This list also contains a link
to the MySchool webpage for each school, which in turn contains a link to
that individual school’s website. Many of these school websites include
the kinds of contact information that you have requested.

We also note that we have been advised by the business area that ACARA may
collect details of persons in charge at Australian primary and secondary
schools provided to it by states and territories. Information about how to
make an FOI request to ACARA can be found at:

are also advised this information would reside with each of the respective
state and territory registration authorities.

Accordingly, as the information you are seeking is publicly available and
a database containing the information is not held by the department,
