Good Afternoon Robert,
I write in relation to your request for documentation.
We have only just received documents today, so I would like to request a moderate extension of time under s15AA of the FOI Act of 10 days, giving a new decision date of 9 October 2023.
This will allow us sufficient time to process your documentation.
If you could advise us of whether or not you agree to the above proposed extension via return email, it would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Freedom of Information Team

Dear Robert,
I refer to your request for access to documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 as follows:
‘Under the FOI Act 1982 (Cth), I request access to any and all documents pertaining to the engagement of services from:
a) PricewaterhouseCoopers,
b) Ernst & Young,
c) KPMG, and
d) Deloitte,
in relation to public interest disclosures made to relevant officials in the ANU since 1 January 2014.'
As a result of searches conducted a number of documents have been identified as relevant to your request. On review of the documents, it has been determined that some of the documents refer to the personal information of third parties. Accordingly, the University is required to consult with those third parties (under section 27A of the FOI Act) before making a decision on the release of the documents.
The consultation mechanism under section 27A applies when we believe the third party concerned might reasonably wish to contend that the requested documents are exempt because their release would disclose the personal information of that third party.
Accordingly, the period for processing your request has been extended by a further 30 days (consult delay) in order to allow our agency time to consult with the third parties concerned.
The processing period for your request will now end on 30 October 2023 at which time you can expect a decision from us.
Yours sincerely,
Freedom of Information Team
