APS Code of Conduct - "good reputation" of the APS

We're waiting for Mr Squiggle to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Australian Public Service Commission,

This is a request for information under the FOI act.

I refer to the APS Code of Conduct, part of which states that an APS employee must "at all times behave in a way that upholds the APS Values and Employment Principles, and the integrity and good reputation of the employee's Agency and the APS"

I seek the following information

1. Any documents that provides evidence the APS and/or its individual agencies have, as a matter of fact, "integrity" and a "good reputation".

2. Any documents that identifies the decision maker who made the assessment the APS and/or its individual agencies have "integrity" and a "good reputation".

2. Any documents that detail the reasoning as to why this part of the Code of Conduct was previously updated, changing "reputation" to "good reputation".

Yours faithfully,

under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 for access to documents held by
the Australian Public Service Commission (Commission), as follows:

1. Any documents that provides evidence the APS and/or its individual
agencies have, as a matter of fact, "integrity" and a "good reputation".

2. Any documents that identifies the decision maker who made the

Seeking clarification

For the first two points of your request, we ask that you please clarify
or narrow the scope of the type of documents you are requesting, for
example, by specifying the types of documents sought. This will assist us
in conducting the appropriate searches in relation to your request.

For the third point of your request, due to the time which has passed
since the enactment of the Public Service Act 1999, these historical
documents would be available at the National Archives of Australia and is

that searching the Commission’s records may be a substantial and
unreasonable diversion of resources. Information about accessing records
under the Archives Act 1983 can be found [1]here.

The timeframe for responding to your request is 30 days from the date of
receipt. Therefore, the due date for this request is 3 February 2025.

Dear FOI Officer

Apologies for the delay responding to your request,.

I trust the APSC has the capability to identify the relevant documents I have outlined.

It would be somewhat concerning if the APS was unable to demonstrate with evidence its self-proclaimed 'integrity' and 'good reputation'. In fact, it could be argued making such claims without sufficient evidence lacks integrity.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Squiggle
