Analysis of Applicant Success Rates under the Recruitability Scheme within the National Disability Insurance Agency
Dear NDIA
I am writing to request information regarding the number of people with disabilities who have applied for APS positions through the Recruitability Scheme, as well as their success rates in securing employment within NDIA.
The information requested would greatly assist in understanding the effectiveness of current diversity initiatives taken by the Federal Government. Kindly refer to the legislative framework governing the Recruitability Scheme, specifically under section 28 of the Australian Public Service Commissioner's Directions 2016, which has been amended and in force since 25 July 2019.
Please include details such as the total number of applicants with disabilities, the number of successful applicants offered positions, and any relevant demographic breakdowns or trends observed within the Agency. Additionally, if there are any existing reports or publications on this topic, I would be grateful to receive them alongside the requested data.
I understand that compiling this information may require time and resources, but I believe it would greatly contribute to our collective efforts in promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities within the Agency. Any assistance you can provide in fulfilling this request would be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
Warm regards,
Yours faithfully,
Ghyas Alam

Dear Ghyas Alam
Thank you for your email below which we take to be intended as a request
under the FOI Act.
In its current form, you request is not sufficiently clear for us to
proceed under the FOI Act. This is because you have not provided
sufficient information, reasonably necessary to identify documents
pursuant to section 15(2)(b) of the FOI Act.
Your email requests data associated with listed actions and possible
responses. While some parts of this might be retrievable or searchable,
aspects of the requested items would need to be clarified to ensure that
we understand the intention.
The FOI Act provides a right of access to documents. It is not for general
enquiries or a mechanism to conduct data searches. The NDIA does have a
research program which provides data upon request. However, please note
that some of the data you are requesting may fall under section 62 of the
NDIA Act as protected Agency information. Please see link below for your
assistance: [1]Request data.
Should you still wish to pursue an FOI request for a document or documents
in existence, we are happy to engage with you to assist you in revising
your scope to ensure your request is valid under the FOI Act.
Alternatively, please forward a revised request via [2][NDIA request email]
addressing the requirements of a valid FOI application.
If you would prefer a telephone discussion to assist you with forming a
valid FOI request, please provide your best contact details and times that
would be suitable for you, and we will call you to discuss.
Kind regards

If this data is readily available, I would appreciate it if you could provide relevant links to the information.
I hope this clarifies my request and I look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
Ghyas Alam
