accordance with the FOI Guidelines issued by the Office of the Australian

Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) to the following documents:
I request a copy of the February 5th DDVA HREC minutes.
The Accredited Decision Maker has determined that your request includes
documents which contain information about the business, commercial or
financial affairs of an organisation, or a person’s business or
professional affairs. In accordance with section 27 of the FOI Act, we are
required to consult with the person or organisation concerned before
making a decision on the release of the documents.
Section 15(6) of the FOI Act provides for a 30-day extension to allow for
this consultation process. Therefore, the deadline for providing you with
a decision on your request now ends on 4 May 2024.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department of Defence's handling of my FOI request 'A copy of the DDVA human research ethics minutes'.
On the 5th of March I requested a full copy of the Defence DVA Human ethics committee meeting on the 5th of February. I was not asked for an extension and given that the minutes were ratified before my request at it next meeting, there should be no reason for the delay and in fact, there has been no excuse for the delay.
I ask that you review this deemed refusal before I take it to the OAIC to do the same.

which was due to be finalised on 4 May 2024. Your email was forwarded to

and we will advise you of when the decision will be finalised early next
