Waste services app unsolicited messages - January 2017
Dear Blue Mountains City Council,
On the 31st of January 2017 several people mentioned receiving a stream of messages from Blue Mountains City Council via the waste services app. These messages apparently contained things like 'Hi' ,and 'Test'.

The council acknowledged this issue on both Twitter and Facebook and also advised that it would be "addressed in the morning".
I am requesting a copy of all documentation related to the determination of the cause of these alerts.
I am also requesting a copy of all documentation regarding how the Blue Mountains City Council chose to communicate with affected parties after this issue was detected.
As this issue relates to the secure use, storage and access to personal information of registered users I request that any fees to access this information are waived as this information is in the public interest.
