Dear Western Australia Police,
Request information pertaining to internal “state” WA Police medals. Information that are not on the WAPOL website including copies of the following documents that may relate too
1 The WA Police Medals protocol Manual &
2 Documents between WA Police and Government House either Perth or Canberra authorising the WA Police and other WA Emergency Service (Fire, Ambulance, SES) or Uniformed Service (Corrections) to wear State medals on the Left Hand Side of the uniform after the official promulgated Australian Honours and Awards.

I refer to an application received at this office on 29 November 2020, requesting access to documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (the ‘Act’).

Point 2 - stipulates: Give an address in Australia where notices can be sent, as a requirement to make a valid access application under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 1992 WA.

The scope of the application is:
The WA Police Medals protocol Manual; and
Documents between WA Police and Government House either Perth or Canberra authorising the WA Police and other WA Emergency Service (Fire, Ambulance, SES) or Uniformed Service (Corrections) to wear State medals on the Left Hand Side of the uniform after the official promulgated Australian Honours and Awards.
The application is considered for 'personal information' as no application fee was received. A personal information application will provide you with information relating only to you, such as your name, address, date of birth, marital status, medical information, telephone number and your actions. Any non-personal information and personal information of other persons is considered to be out of scope, and will be removed from the documents.
Please note that under the Act, Freedom of Information applications can be dealt with within 45 days from the date the application is received. However, it is also permitted for an extension of time to be agreed upon between the agency and an applicant.
