Dear Dwaine
The Department of Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) does not hold vehicle registration details. This information is held by the relevant State motor registry offices. As such, it is unlikely that the Department would hold any information about the previous owner of said vehicle.
If you wish to proceed with a request under the Freedom of Information Acts 1982 (FOI Act) you will need to submit a valid FOI request. Section 15 of the FOI Act 1982 provides that:
15(2) The request must:
(aa) state that the request is an application for the purposes of this Act; and
(b) provide such information concerning the document as is reasonably necessary to enable a responsible officer of the agency, or the Minister, to identify it;
Taking the above into consideration I would be grateful if you could confirm that you are seeking documents in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982, and provide detail about documents you are seeking access to, not information.
Please be advised that until such time as a valid FOI request is received from you, your current request will not be progressed.
Regards
