Unique Student Identifier exemptions
Dear Department of Education,
Could you please send through the latest document that describes the process the department goes through to determine if they will uphold a request for an exemption from the Unique Student Identifier?
If possible, please treat this as an administrative/informal request. Otherwise please proceed with my request as a formal information request under the Act.
Yours faithfully,
Taylor Denny and Shaun Prakash
Dear Mr Denny and Mr Prakash,
Thank you for your request of 15 November 2016 regarding unique student
identifier (USI) exemptions.
I have discussed your request with the USI area and they are happy to
provide you with the following information (outside of the FOI Act):
‘Exemptions from the Unique Student Identifier (USI) to individuals are
granted by the Student Identifiers Registrar a statutory office holder
whose functions are set out in the Student Identifiers Act 2014 and
subordinate legislation. Individual exemption procedures are set out at
s.7(2) of the Student Identifiers (Exemptions) Instrument 2014 (the text
of which can be found at
[1]https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F...) and in more detail
on the USI website at

Thank you

Over on the OpenAustralia Foundation blog Moz pointed out that the links in the authority's response don't work: https://www.openaustraliafoundation.org....
It appears that both links have extra characters at the end of them that meant they didn't work. Here's the fixed links:
