Transcript of notes taken by Consumer Affairs in June/July 2022
Dear Victorian Department of Justice & Regulation,
Good morning,
I was speaking with a rep. from Consumer Affairs yesterday; regarding an ongoing dispute with a builder. Consumer Affairs first made contact with me in June this year and following a discussion, advised my builder to repay my deposit as he had not done any work in 18 months. He indicated that he would and then decided not to. Trisha from Consumer Affairs contacted me again in July; informing me that my deposit would not likely be refunded and that, ' He never wanted to do the job' and also intended closing my file, as he refused to respond to any form of communication from her. I have been involved in conciliation and raised an issue during the hearing, which was that ' He never wanted to do the job.' The builder denied saying this. This issue has become quite acrimonious and I have been left with no choice other than to enlist the services of a Lawyer. I need every piece of supporting evidence available to assist me in this legal process.
I'm afraid that I cannot narrow down the specific date/dates in June/July regarding my dealings with Consumer Affairs. The only information I can provide, is that I first made contact with the department directly responsible for dealing with building disputes in May 2022, and the name of the person is Trisha. I was informed yesterday that there are quite a few notes taken re. this case. If I could be furnished with the page/pages; where it states that the builder had little or no intention of starting my job, I would be greatly appreciative. My contact number is as follows: 0411279838.
Yours faithfully,
Marguerite Dixon
