Dear Queensland Department of Education,

On Friday, 19 October 2012 I am aware there was a break in and vandalism at Southport Special School.

I understand there was damage to two school buses inside the shed and that all the bus windows had been smashed and the outsides had been damaged by graffiti.

I am seeking information on the nature of this graffiti. Is there any images available? Were there words written?
I am also interested in any internal correspondence relating to this matter.

Yours faithfully,

ADMINLAW, rti, Queensland Department of Education

Good morning,

I refer to your request for "information relating to the number and nature of any complaints, allegations unfounded or received regarding QLD Special school transportation. I am particularly interested in the services that the Dept use through third parties such as Metro Coach Pty ltd."

It is noted that you lodged another Right to Know request and an Information Privacy application concurrently to this request. As per my correspondence to your personal email address on 15 February 2024, regarding all three requests:
• Some of the information requested would be impractical or otherwise unsuitable for administrative release
• A Right to Information application would be required for any non-personal information sought
• Evidence of identity requirements would need to be met in order to proceed with the Information Privacy application

As no response was received from you, the Information Privacy application was deemed as of 21 March 2024 and notification of this was sent to you on 2 April 2024. Since then, no further correspondence from you has been received, other than follow ups from the Right to Know website.

It is noted that Queensland government records are subject to the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) and the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (RTI Act). The Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act) does not apply to the records you have sought and therefore any requests made via the Right to Know website are administrative requests, rather than legislative, and the Department is not required by law to respond. Should you wish to proceed with a new request for the various information you are seeking, the correct avenue is to lodge either an IP or RTI application. This can be done online at: https://www.smartservice.qld.gov.au/serv....

For further information on accessing records of the Department of Education (Qld), please refer to the Department’s webpage ‘How do I access information?’ available at: https://alt-qed.qed.qld.gov.au/about-us/....
