Review of Mental Health Services
Dear National Mental Health Commission,
Why is the final report into mental health services not being released publicly?
Can this report be accessed under FOI?
Yours faithfully,
James Scott
Dear James,
Thank you very much for your enquiry.
I will assume you are referring the report of the National Review of Mental Health Programmes and Services, which the Commonwealth Government asked the National Mental Health Commission to undertake in 2014.
The Commonwealth Government instructed that this report should be confidential, which is why it has not yet been released publicly. The public release of the report is a decision for the Government, and questions about the report's public release should be directed to the office of the Minister for Health, the Hon. Sussan Ley MP. The Minister's office can be contacted by email at [email address] or [email address], or by phone on 02 6277 7220.
Further, please clarify whether you were informally enquiring about whether the document could be accessed under FOI processes, or whether you wish for your email to be handled as a formal FOI request.
Please feel free to contact me by e-mail or phone if you'd like to discuss this further.
Kind regards,
Tom
