Dear Redland City Council,

In relation to transparency, residents of Redland City (Queensland) deserve to know:

a) Did Council (rate payers) fund Mayor Jos Mitchell to enrol in a company directors course with the Australian Institute of Company Director’s ?

b) What was the total cost of this course? Did the Mayor personally contribute towards this professional development? If so, how much and what is/was the total cost to rate payers/Council?

c) What dates were associated with the course? Such as the enrolment date and the date the course expected completion date?

d) Did Mayor Jos Mitchell complete the course?

e) Did the Mayor successfully obtain the qualification from AICD?

f) If the Mayor did not successfully complete the course, why?

g) Will Redland City Council seek reimbursement, from the Mayor, if the Mayor failed to complete the course? If not, why not? If so, can Council confirm the amount being sought for reimbursement and how Council calculated this amount.

Residents deserve transparency for their rate payments and accountability by elected officials. This is a step to ensure rate payers money is being spent with an outcome intended with a return on investment (professional development).
