Polllies & Public Servants Double Dipping
Dear Department of Finance,
Rob (Honest and Confused Australian),
I have friend who retired at 60 from the Local Court of NSW after 25 years of service as a Magistrate, this was fine with me until he explained that he will be receiving his full salary + benefits without paying tax on this income, after I sat down and had another scotch I accepted this and we moved on until just recently he informed me with some pride that he would soon be turning 65 and was going to apply for the old age pension because as far the ATO are concerned he doesn't pay any tax and therefore has no income and will be entitled to claim the FULL pension plus all other benefits.
I am sure that his income would be well over 150k P/A and if this is correct, how many other Politician's and Public servants are sticking their noses in this very lucrative pot of gold.
I would very much appreciate any feed back on this topic and what can be done to stop this practice.
Yours faithfully, Robert Stuckey
